Be sure to keep proof that you made the payment. Keep the paperwork until your youngest child turns 23 years old. If the payment is misapplied, it is YOUR responsibility to have proof that you made the payment. If your employer withholds the money, be sure to keep all payroll stubs to prove that the money was taken out of your paycheck.
